I have limited mobility and would like someone to measure the distance from the ground to the rear step and the distance from the rear step to the down tail gate. it looks like there aren't any stake holes in the top of the box. i used to put a piece of wood in the stake hole on my Silverado to assist me in getting into the box.

    Thanks

Do you mean the optional rear powered bed step? Unfortunately there is no standard step. If the rear step doesn’t come with your truck, current supplies will make it very difficult to find (I tried twice and had my order cancelled).

I’m thinking of getting something like this: https://traxionproducts.com/products/tailgate-ladder

yes i was referring to the optional bee step. i am considering a 1794 with the step. your solution looks like it might be the answer. thanks

On auto bed step, ground to step roughly 17 inches - step to tailgate 16 inches

For the Standard Bed Step or non-powered, on my limited it is 13 from ground to top of step and 22 from top of step to tailgate. Seems odd it would vary so much between trucks and powered/non-powered.

Where did you try to order a step from? Im dying to find one. If not I will settle for a ladder like you linked.

Just a warning. I have a Platinum that came with the power running boards (which I absolutely love) and the bed step. The bed step is handy when getting in the bed because you’re conscious of where the support strap for the tailgate is but when you’re getting out of the bed that strap is dangerous when you’re stepping onto the step…if you’re not careful your foot can catch the strap and you’ll fall on your face…almost happened to me when I wasn’t thinking.

The bigger hazard for me is banging my shin on it. I had a manual step just like it on my last truck, not sure why I keep walking into it, lol...I'm at about 30 times now. I feel like a monk who trains by punching a tree, I've done it so much it barely hurts now.

I’ve looked everywhere every place is out of stock or the part is listed as not being sold at the moment

Many thanks to all for the thoughtful and helpful information and discussion. The Tundra rear step may be a selling point for the physical fit but this old man will not consider it a plus in my evaluations! I really am pleased with the info folks!
