I am looking to purchase a 2006 4wd double cab with low miles, but with a bad differential. I presume the pumpkin leaked the fluid out and it ran dry. I have located a 2000 rear end for only $250.

Will it swap out ? What do I need to know before going further?

The 2000 rear-end is 2.93 gear ratio, disc brakes and no ABS. The seller says the 2006 truck is the same. I found a mechanic who would do the swap for $300 to $400.

    Thanks

    Disc brakes? 2.93 ratio?

All 2006 Tundras have ABS from the factory...

    Then choose this...

If your 2006 has vehicle stability control (VSC) make sure the axle you buy does NOT have a limited slip differential in it (LSD). Good luck.

All your bass are belong to us

Sounds like a sequoia. Didn't they have the same ratios as ours though?

I think all sequoias from 2001-2007 have 4.10 gears.
