I need a chrome rear bumper for a 2005 stepside Tundra. Can't find one anywhere. Dealer said they could order one (face only) for close to $600. Anybody got any ideas where else to find one??
    Thanks

Summit Racing is here I got my replacement chrome bumper when someone tagged my OEM color-matched one in a parking lot.

I'm looking at the parts page for an '05 stepside and it looks the same as my regular, but maybe I'm nuts.

    https://parts.toyota.com/a/Toyota_2...179/REAR-BUMPER--BUMPER-STAY/841420-5253.html

That said, last one I got was at Summit Racing. Drop-shipped to my door, great quality and not that cheap thin, poorly plates Chinesium crap, $344.

And damn, I wish I could've found one painted for mine. I'm on the fence about chrome vs. painted. When I see the original pics of my truck with the painted bumper, I get nostalgic. But I'm a big fan of shiny flashy chrome things when it's in all the right places. Like the one in @alb1k 's rear-end.

They have different part numbers from the fleet side trucks, but look almost identical. The plastic step pads are definitely different to match either step or fleet side.

If I could've gotten a painted one that cheap for my truck, I totally would've. Online nobody had OEM painted for my truck when I looked, it was either ready-to-paint, or chromed. Only reason I have a chrome bumper today.

I'm guessing the painted is primer, but that's better than painting chrome. Maybe that's what you were thinking.

Ah, they need to change the name of this product to bumper plug light, or BumPlugz Lite for portmanteau flair.

I like rear eye. Eventually, I'll show a pic of LED reverse vs. rear eye output...

Me too. I'm going to make a weather pack extension harness and a magnet mount so I can use the available wiring for light when the hitch is in use.

Not stepside, but painted...I'm glad I did. I ordered powder coated gray, and painted it to match in my garage. Of course it was warm then....

Bought a cheapo off Amazon for about $200 a few years ago.

Just as thin as the original, but at that price, I'm ok replacing it every 10-12 years - if the truck even lasts that long.
