I’m looking to add rear disc brakes to my tundra and I’m curious what everyone thinks about how strong our rear axles are vs ford 1/2 ton axles. I can easily add sequoia discs to my Toyota axle but I’m tempted to swap out my rear for a 9” or 8.8” with discs, This would also make my wheel bolt pattern the same front to rear since I have an aftermarket front axle. Right now I’m biased towards the 9” but Let me know what you think of these axles.

I would say go for a 9” mainly because it’ll match your 5 lug axle up front.

Makes sense to match up the new rear with the front.
