I’ve seen this pop up in older posts and owners just took it to the dealer and it sounds like they swapped in a new head unit.

My radio randomly turns off and on about once a minute one day and the next it stays on for ten minutes straight.

What is actually the problem? Looks like it’s a known issue in the older gen 2 Tundras.

    Thanks

Yep, My first Tundra was a 2007 which I purchased new. I had intermittent radio problems starting around the 500 mile mark where it would just shut down but never when a service writer was present. I ended up replacing it with a eBay (wrecked) Sequoia unit which I never had a problem with.
Yes Toyota had a problem with these units and they new it, but proving it was very difficult since it was an intermittent problem and never failed when taken to the dealer.
