Does it freeze and reboot on its own? If so there's an update Toyota has to upload on to stereo.

Try manually reseting it. Hold power knob down for 10 secs or so, you'll see screen go blank then release.

    I will try
I also went in to privacy’s settings on the phone and shut down shared Bluetooth apps
Haven’t been out there to try it yet
Everything was fine until I updated this phone

Try turning off Bluetooth your phone for now, see if the radio works normally when you're disconnected.

You can build an update USB from here: https://securedp.toyota.com/download-app/downloads

I never update my phone it's still on 10.0 something, but my Kenwood head unit would no longer recognize my phone after the most recent update was released. My stereo shop updated the firmware for the HU yesterday, and all is well again.

    Why wouldn’t you update security?
I typically wait to download the updates for a week or so in case the first release was a little too ambitious and has bugs but after that I always want the latest security running.
My email? Who cares. My bank and credit cards? I care...a LOT!!

I updated my Iphone today IOS 13.1.3
Zero issues , still connects via bluetooth and Everything works as normal.
I'm thinking you need the update for your deck.

I use my phone as a phone, camera and for texting. I never go online with my phone, or install apps... I still have a big old PC at home for that, and it's wi-fi is disabled.

After the update on my iPhone I was listening to the radio and it kept changing presets. I pushed the first one, took my hand off and 1-2 seconds later it changed the channel to preset #2. Tried it again, same thing. The third time it stopped and has never done it again. Pretty weird.

Well I’m not using the Bluetooth feature anymore at least for awhile
If I want to spend hours trying to get my radio going again then I’ll try repairing it

It probably takes about 20 minutes to make the USB and install the update, just in case you change your mind.

I had the same issue and a nice guy from the genius bar at the Apple store had it fixed in less than 5 minutes. It’s the 13.1.2 or 13.1.3 update that seems to be causing this. I haven’t had an issue since visiting the Apple store. Most of the day yesterday and all day so far today... not a single hiccup.

    FIXED TODAY:

Went to the Apple Store Genius Bar and told the guy what was happening. He came out to my truck and fixed it in less than 5 minutes. You must be running 13.1.3. Forst: forget the Tundra from the I phone Bluetooth settings. You must also remove the I Phone from the Tundra radio so there are no phones paired. You must turn the Bluetooth off on the I phone until the last step. Here’s what he did to the phone:

    1. Uninstall Apple Music app.
    2. Reset network settings.
    3. Sign out of your I Tunes account.
    4. Restart the phone.
    5. Sign in to I Tunes account again.
    6. Reinstall the music app.
    7. Open the music app, select songs, then select shuffle and let it begin playing the music on the phone first to be sure it’s working properly.
    8. Pair the phone with the truck again (turn Bluetooth on, go to audio screen and select add).

I did this at about 10:45AM and drove the truck all day without any issues. Music and phone working fine. Also jumped in my 2017 and played a couple songs and. No more rebooting on that radio either. Hope this works for you guys too! Good luck!!

Not trying to be negative and I hope yours is fixed. Time will tell.. As far as the earlier models 14-17, That Itunes and bluetooth stuff has been tried and didn't work, Those radios need the update..

No I get it. It seems like this fix is more likely to work with the folks who all of a sudden began having the issue after the last update. Updating the radio and doing this wouldn’t hurt anything either. But for those like me... with an up to date radio... it’s another plate of spaghetti to throw at the wall.

Definitely weird because I updated my XS Max last week to 13.1.3. No issues, but I also already updated the radio awhile ago.

The interesting part is killing Apple Music from the phone. I never used that service while I was on iPhone, so just removed it as part of my setup process and never thought anything more about it. @jeremyd do you still have the Music app installed and/or use it?

It's on my phone but I don't use it. I stream music from Amazon.

Even if you don’t use Apple Music - you might still try the steps. All the hocus pocus of resetting network settings, signing out of your i tunes acct, etc might also help. Worth a try. Mine is still fine... no issues since. Fingers crossed.
