radio knob on my 2024 tundra

my radio knob just suddenly broke off. took it to the dealership i bought it from and the service guy tried to blame the broken knob on me. said it would cost me $14.00. i told him no way am i going to pay for it my truck is brand new and bumper to bumper warranty. he said he will talk to the warranty office. he came back and said he will order me one. can you believe it over a $14.00 part he was willing to loose a customer. well i am now on my 4th broken knob. since he wanted to charge me for it i just go in with the broken knob and exchange it with another one out of a new truck.

 

i'm a new member, HVAC, bought my new tundra about 8 months ago. i'ts all black and trim level is 1794

i do use my steering wheel controls now to stop from using the new knob because it's just going to break again. but the design is so awkward it doesn't fill nice to use.

 

i came from ford after buying my forth f-150 2019 lariat, 2021 xlt , 2023 limited- someone plowed into me sold i sold it to the dealership and bought another 2023 limited. i left ford because they were taking away nice option's such as heated steering wheel while continuing to raise there prices because of shortage of chips. my truck sits outside so i went to toyota tundra. not too pleased with this truck. so i will be going back to ford after i was informed by salesman that ford was putting the missing option's back. ordered the 2024 ford f-150 platinum plus

 

Welcome to the forum! Seen a couple post of radio knobs breaking and seems like the part is pretty weak. Mine haven’t had any issues but if they do break I’ll probably buy these. 200 is steep but I’m sure these will hold up better overall.

If I had a Gen 3 I'd hit that..
I'm already an AJT fan..

 

Mine broke as well. Took it to the dealer and they said they would have to order a new head unit. I said I don’t think that’s right. He said go talk to the parts guys. Went back and he said I was correct but when he was initially looking at the parts screen it didn’t appear you could order just the knob. Naturally with my luck he says it’s on a national back order

 

Lol, backordered. I'm not surprised at all.

 

Just replaced mine, still under warranty. They had one in stock but said they are having to order a lot -- b/c Toyota had new ones made, it's a diff part number. The inside where the plastic breaks is now thicker...if you have your old one and get the new one you can see a difference. Don't let them give you the same one with the very thin plastic circle part
