I’d be surprised if it didn’t. The harness might not be identical, but you should be able to make it work if your using the amp within the head unit itself.

Hopefully someone with a wiring diagram of their 2006 head unit will chime in to confirm.

We've had guys here even able to swap in 201x model head units into their 1st gen. @Darkness aren't you one?

Toyota hasn't changed a ton on the main harnesses. Tacoma and Tundra even share some misc plastic parts inside and out.

Not me, Alpine since 2009. @empty_lord has a pretty new radio from the 86.

It should be interchangeable but you'll want to be sure it is the same arrangement. Some have an amp in the back of the cab, some have an amp behind the hvac controls. Some might not have an amp.

Good points. And yep it's EL with, I think, a 2018 model radio in his, full bluetooth and all that.

I wouldn't be worried about things swapping in from the same generation. You may need trim pieces to shim. Steering wheel controls won't work in a 2000-2001 (maybe 2003), but I'm almost certain the main harness is the same, but agree to check whether the source vehicle was a 4 speaker or 6+ speaker setup to know if it had an amp. May (?) be a factor.

Unit will plug in and work. But you will need an 03-04 radio bezel. The 00-02 bezel only fits the narrower radios (true double din)

I dunno about compatibility but "Pablo Honey" was a damned fine album.

Radiohead requires big fans for compatibility. Mine is only a small fan, so not really compatible.
