Rack & pionion dumped all the fluid

    Anyone ever have there rack & pionion all of a sudden dump all the power steering fluid out the shaft ends

    I have never seen anything like it in my life time

    Also. F/U. Toyota for making it next to impossible to remove and replace

    Not impossible. But tedious. I replaced one on an RX a couple of years back. I suspect yours may have been leaking before taking a dump. Dealer wanted about $2k IIRC. I looked the Tundra up, and it's about a good long weekend of work if you're taking your time. Seems like you will get familiar with your engine mount set up and a jack. Let us know how it works out.

    It really wasn't bad spent about 3hrs. Removing it today...

    But I did pull the front dif. And it came out no problem

    After all the articles I read and the few videos I could find
    Removing g the dif. Seemed like the easy road
    And it wasn't to bad But stil . Toyota why did you move from in front of the crossmember to the top ???

    Cool. I haven't really looked at the set up. Hell, that's not bad at all. I don't have a front diff. I follow these threads because I work on my own stuff. Luckily mine's still got some warranty on it from being certified till it rolls over 100K, so I'm looking under it for any leaks and such. Sounds like you got it in the bag
