    Howdy!

    Shackles Torque Question...

What is the correct Torque specs for shackles?

**I am asking because there seems to be many many different answers floating around. Coachbuilder says 90 on his, but also read 85-90 on Toytec. Then again, I also read 77 for factory.

Love to hear some feedback on what kind of shackles you got and what you torque it to.

    what kind of shackles?

My concern is that if this part is over torque it may obstruct the free flow of movement needed by the shackle/leaf spring

I am using the coach builder ones! That’s a very valid point you bring up!

I decided to run MAXTRAC shackles. They look almost identical to OEM but longer and a bit thicker.

With that said, I torque mine to 80 ft.lbs thinking they are similar design to OEM which are at 77. I guess this justifies?

If you're unsure you should base it off of the size and grade of the bolt. Hopefully the manufacturer chose the appropriate bolt for the application.

Does this even count, My arm was enough to slide my 205lb body and then I called it a day. I don't even own a torque wrench, Lol
