Anyone purchase this and install themselves? Ive got a few rock chips on my color matched bumper caps. Figured id touch them up first then get this installed myself or just go somewhere and get it done. Just curious if anyone here has done their bumper caps and those smaller panel pieces themselves and is this kit/brand one of good quality? Thanks

PPF is harder to install than you think. I would get some quotes and let a shop do it.

No problem. I'm a DIY guy as I have done every project on my truck but exterior paint and PPF is a professional shop thing. I tried to do the Morimoto headlights on my 2013 and it wasn't easy once you hit the first corner or curve lol. PPF is so common now that the prices aren't too bad at all.

I’ve been really happy with XPEL ppf on my Tundra. From my understanding, there is usually only 1 authorized installer per market (city/metro area). I’m really glad I didn’t try it myself.

I tried to vinyl wrap my bumper caps - it was a shitshow.

Yep....that's why I suggested shop quotes. Some things shouldn't be touched by us lol. It's funny....I can do a full blown stereo and amp install, a Blue Sea fuse panel install, and several led light bars, but a piece of clear film on a corner sucks a$$ lol.

Agreed. Full stereo, all kinds of lights, all the fluids, belt, tensioner, idler pulley - no problem - the vinyl has been my only defeat.

agree with this. Just had mine done yesterday with Stek and it was $400 for the bumper end caps and the pieces below the headlights .. talked me into the headlights as well for $250 and I’m glad I did they came out awesome

Any evidence to this? Products used? Genuinely interested.
Would say ‘wrap’ is a relatively generic term .. not all films used are actually ppf

I will say with my headlights the top edge where it gets downward UV effect from sun was already starting to delaminate a bit and only 2 years since install

Eh I’m all set. If you’re going to bring controversy to a convo in a group that is generally trying to help each other out then be ready to back it up. Don’t tell members to go google your generic blanket statement about ‘wrapping’ cars with zero specifics. How relevant is Porsche to Toyota?
All I do know is the OEM full LED trd pro version headlights were already delaminating along the top edge. So guys check your stuff.
