So I installed 5100s on my 2004 AC 2WD. at the front Its on the 4th clip so roughly 2.2" higher then stock..the rear is lower maybe about an 1" -1.5". The lean is bothering the hell out of me lol. I have read previous threads that I could find. Has anyone had experience with the single add a leaf from toytec? Or the 3 leaf progressive ones?
I'm not interested in blocks, but also don't need a whole new leaf system.
    Thank yous!!!
I will not be offroading this truck. It's a work, hauling, weekend warrior, commuter.

Contrary to what you're thinking. You may need a whole new leaf system. Measure your rear suspension height from the center of the wheel hub to the bottom of the fender. This should be about 22" or darn close. If it's significantly less than that, your leafs may be worn out. New leafs may cure the sag and fix the lean. An add a leaf may also do this, but the ride and load carrying may change. Several other threads dedicated to this subject, look around a bit for research.

Iirc, the AC Cab and Billys 5100 only recco no more higher than 2nd Clip. Maybe someone can reread the spec or repost it, but I remember this for some reason. Open to correction of course. This may or may not be causing bro lean.

I spoke to Josh at FirstGen Off-road about the clip setting for AC’s. He told me that it really is just a recommendation due to ride quality. He said you can place them on any clip setting but the higher up you go, the harsher ride you will get but it wouldn’t hurt anything (except if you forget your sports bra).

Hehehe thanks for double checking yeah the 4th clip is perfect for me. Not gonna lie though it was a pain to install on the 4th clip. Nothing will be as harsh riding as my old 240, thanks all. I'll be doing more research this weekend and let y'all know what I decide on.

I'm a 4th clipper as well. No complaints really.

I went with the icon AAL and 5100s in the rear, works perfect for me, been doing some work around my home and hauling and no sag. I do have a small rake tho with no load

had a full pallet of laminate flooring and it didn’t even move. I was so proud but no one else felt my joy.

Also 4th clipper on a 2004 AC 2WD. The ride is great and looks very level... no complaints.

Front was slightly higher than the back after install but seems to have leveled out to just about perfect over time.

Someone make a sticky with spring rates vs weight vs travel. My shock bushings are worn out, and probably the rear springs, but i dont want this truck to rattle. Id rather rub with tiny tires, than catch a harsh jiggle over rr tracks.

like ive said, i like the thin leaf deavers, but id like a full travel front as well. And if that means air bypass shocks or whatever, i wanna cadillac over the small stuff.

My understand on the 5100 is , on a stock suspension the higher you put the clip the more stress for your other suspension components, a safe spot would be on the second notch max third notch.

I've got 140,000 miles on the 4th notch on my AC with TRD coils. No premature failures to speak of.

    Let's see the 240.

For the rear springs look at ATS HD springs. There is not much point in messing with your stock pack unless you have a shop that will rearch them. There is a thread in here called measure up. You should add your before and after specs to that thread.

Good to know some of y’all don’t have any issues on the 4th notch. I’ve been wanting to get 5100’s for the front and always wondered where to put the clip to get my truck leveled and avoid any damage to my suspension since I’d like to leave everything else stock. This will certainly help me out.

    None yet.
Thanks... my 5100s just arrived and have been debating on where to set them on my 2006 DC 2x4. shooting for 3 or 4 now. I've got almost 2.5 inches of delta between front/rear. Will be putting new 5100s on the rear at the same time.

While Knab and DirtFinger say ok keep in mind we’ve had many others say harshness on 4 and 5 Clips Settings. This pertains to the Access Cab only. Do your research.

It certainly makes the ride a bit firmer, but not unbearably so. Feels pretty normal driving around. Not jarring over bumps. Which coils you have and what kind of ride you are looking for are factors to consider. May be better off on a lower clip with a different coil (Eibach or OME for example) to add lift but not firm the ride up too much if its too harsh for you.

I’ve done a lot of research, I will most likely still go with the second or third notch setting.

here's the manual that came with my shocks, pretty much the same, but different numbers... bottom says the revision is 7/6/17.

onesojourner thanks for that thread link, ill post there as well once I get some time to mess with the truck.

My second set came with the same instructions and the washers for the front bumpstops. I ignored the "do not use" advice for the 4th clip. I needed the 2" to level the truck out. 4th clip gave me that. Truck hasn't exploded yet.
