I am replacing the stock head unit on my 2018 and want to know if I should keep the OEM unit and put it up for sale?

They usually don't go for much bc they suck. Mine is in a cabinet in the garage.

I guess the real questions is what is "not much"... it is more that $100 I will deal with selling it.. If not will just toss it..

    Thanks man!

I sold mine from my 2018 for around $350 on eBay. They don’t go for much on here, but there’s certainly a market for them elsewhere.

People will want to upgrade to the OEM nav. You shouldn’t have any problem selling. I sold the one out of my 2017 for $300+ shipping.

The real question is which one it is exactly and of course if not the lowest base model, there is value for anyone looking to upgrade the one they have that is lower.

I did mine and it is an amazing improvement and still looks factory too obviously,it also sounds much better than the stock radio did in my truck, much better!

Mine is out of the Limited- it is NON-JBL but it has NAV and all of the "nice" stuff. Anything I can get will help.. once my wife finds out how much I putting into my truck whatever I get may be what I eat off of for a couple of months!

    Thanks guys!

That’s pretty much what mine was. And I was in the same situation where I used the resale to justify the cost of the replacement to the accountant aka wife.

Just a heads up. You may want to make sure you reset your unit before selling to delete any personal data.

If your head unit is good why not enhance it?

Anyone know anything about how the Xm radio would switch over from the stock unit, PM me.

We still can not be sure what unit is even being talked about here?
The ones that I have seen have an XM radio attached under the stock head unit that plugs into the head unit but looks to be proprietary to it as well.
So I am not hopeful that the factory version can be used with aftermarket radios.

On the other hand the Sat radio tuner is often free or really cheap for aftermarket radios toothy just really want you to pay the recurring monthly price.

Caritaman1- I am doing a rip and replace on of the whole system. Going with a Kenwood Head Unit.

Sold my OEM H/U out of my 2018 Platinum, for $300.00, locally. I say, SELL IT and make some $$ to put towards other mods/upgrades!
