Does anyone here know if there is a difference between the valves used for LPG when it is in a gaseous state and when it is in a liquid state.

I'm going to say yes, but, I can't really find anything specific in my vast research in the last 10 minutes :D. Biggest thing I can definitely find is the temperature problem. The Liquid form is a lower temperature than most of the gas hoses are rated for... I have to imagine that this is true for the valves as well.

I found one site where you can buy valves specifically labeled as Liquid valves :notsure:, https://www.jtcvalvesales.com/valves/lpg-valves.html

What use case do you have that you need to work with Liquid Propane?

I did do some research before posting.
I installed a tap on the top of my 500g propane tank today so I can fill my smaller tanks myself. I plan to add a quick disconnect for the feed so I don’t have to leave the fill hose out in the weather. The quick disconnect lpg couplers don’t indicate if they are rated for liquid propane that will be flowing.

Gotcha. This nash brand one states that it is rated for both http://www.nashfuel.com/partbymfg.a...rass-quick-connect-propane-lpg-hose-line-tank

The few big tank transfer kits that I have seen have a large "quick disconnect" hand screw fitting just behind the valve that is screwed directly into the tank... not sure if yours has that

I like it. It is 1/2” npt where I will be installing the q d. Will check and see if they carry it in 1/2”

If there's a chance of flashing propane across the valve, what we do in the refinery is have two valves in series with the first one being quick closing (e.g. quarter-turn) and the second one being used to throttle the flow. (We also make the first valve self-closing, which might be overkill for your use.)
