We're looking at getting the V8 and in 2x4, six and a half footbed in any color but black. So we've been told by the dealer up here that we pretty much just have to have one built and I need it for a September date so looking at the build times in Austin for this truck wondering if anybody knows what the dates are?

Build times are shorter than 7mo if that's your concern. You'll also so a quicker delivery since you're in Texas. For my build the timeline was 6-8w then another week for delivery. Arrival was right on that estimate.

My advice would be spring for the 4x4 or regret it down the line. I didn’t think I needed 4wd until I didn’t have it then it was all I could think about. I would try other dealerships, San Antonio seems to have a lot in stock all the time, not sure if it’s because they are built there but there is always stock just got to look. Good luck!

Honestly the resale variance between the 2wd and the 4wd would be enough to keep me from ever going 2wd.

Perhaps an outlier, but my order went in at the end of Nov and it's scheduled to be built late-March with a mid-April delivery, so almost 5 months if it tracks on that path. I was originally told 8-10 weeks. I was more specific about what I wanted than the OP, however, so that may be a factor and color/options flexibility probably will help expedite.

I placed my order Thanksgiving weekend and it arrived 2/5/21, so around 2 months for custom build.

They are running low on semiconductors though.

I'm going to tow a trailer,
I'm old and don't care about resale value,
    black (scratches and swirls).
