    Hey all,
I don't think of myself as a total dunce with electricity, so this has me a little confused and embarrassed, but I can't seem to figure this out...

2011 truck with fog lights. The stock ones worked fine.

I removed them and replaced with S2 Pro's. Now any time I flip the factory switch to turn them on, the fuse instantly blows. I didn't change anything about the wiring except just replaced the stock bulb housing with the S2. S2s should draw less current so the stock fuse should be more than enough. It is almost like I created a short somewhere, but I really don't think it is in my splicing... any thoughts would be appreciated. TIA.

Also of note, using the Baha Designs supplied wiring harness and connecting straight to a battery, the lights turn on and off with no issues so they seem fine to me based on that.

Did you wire them up backwards? This is a common issue with splicing in aftermarket fogs. Try reversing the polarity, or better idea, put a multimeter on the leads so you know for sure which wire is which.

I believe I confirmed that before (It has actually been a little while since I did this and I got distracted with a different car, but coming back to this now). I will double check that, thanks.

I'd also disconnect one and/or the other and see if the problem persists with both lights individually.

Sure enough... I just "assumed" that "A" was positive, but connected the supplied wiring harness back up and sure enough "B" is positive... I had both wired backwards. Swapped the connectors around and now they light up like a champ.

    Dunce status confirmed... thanks guys.

It’s an easy mistake to make. Glad you were able to get it sorted out!
