Problem programming the remote

So it took me awhile to finally find a programmable remote for my truck for locking and unlocking the doors. The key slot in my door is starting to catch and I've been worried about breaking the key.

Anyways, I've tried the little programmer that came with it that you plug in and it didn't work and I've tried manually programming it with the door locks and opening and closing the door a thousand times and it's still not working.

Is this a common issue with this truck, am I doing something wrong, or is there something I need to check out under the steering wheel that I'm not seeing?

 

I never got the open/close door elephant dance to work. I had to use TechStream to program my fob’s.

 

I bought the autel 919 and that programmed keys and fobs with ease . Started with 1 key and fob and now have 3 working keys and fobs .
