My 2019 is going to be 6 years old in a couple weeks. The battery terminals are showing some corrosion. I can clean them up and probably be ok. Only 21k miles. I was thinking to just replace it but volts look good and cranks right up (now that I finally had fuel pump recall done). Thoughts?

Id replace for sure. Batteries are good until they are not.

easy and cheap to replace. You got way more than usual life on the battery already. They generally crap out at 3-4 years.

Batteries always seem to fail at the worst possible time, so swap in a new one before you have a problem.

6 year is a good run. The beauty of your battery is that will die unannounced, and worse timing. I would go ahead an replace it. My 2013 died at 5 years and luckily my son had a battery starter with him. Drove to AutoZone to get a Duralast since choices were limited.

I keep one of those battery jump pack in the truck.. in case of the battery died all of a sudden.. this way i can always make it to the nearest battery store if needed..

Battery in my 2019 died just a couple months ago. I knew I was was (over) due but I wanted to see how long I could push it. This is obviously not the smartest thing to do and I am not suggesting you do the same, just sharing my experience.

I got my truck in 2018 June. It's now 2024 December. I doubt the battery was new when I bought it as the truck is a 2010. I live in Wyoming and it gets cold a lot around here. Drained the battery several times over the years but it is still doing it's job. I drive the truck daily and I do have a battery jumper box that I mostly leave at home but always take on any trip that's not local.

This makes zero sense to me. Why wouldn't you keep it in your truck?

Mine is going to be 5 y/o come Jan 2025. More than likely replace it before next winter. Almost 6 years is a good run in my book.

I am thinking about switching to the Die Hard Plat AGM battery in the next few months. Interested if others have swapped to that battery and think its a good swap.
