    Glad to join the group.

I had a '14 4x4 SR5 until 2020. I traded my Tundra for a '13 F150 to get rid of the payment I agreed to (prior to my first kiddo). Anyway I think that had to be one of my worst decisions in the past years. The F150 has horrible squeaky suspension, gets terrible gas mileage (considering its a 3.5L V6), multiple oil/coolant leaks...oh and I had to rebuild the tranny at 105K miles. Now the truck is having starter issues and some unidentified transmission/shifter problem. Needless to say I miss my Tundra...

I'd buy a used Tundra but anything under 80k miles is $40K+...I always thought buying a new vehicle is one of the worst ways to spend your money but in this situation it seems the better deal is to buy new for a few more $1000s.

I'm currently looking for a '22 SR5 4x4 Crewmax but my local dealer is all but helpful and spouts off about all the coming "allocations" in the near but somehow distant future. Im basically in the middle of nowhere TX so there aren't many yota dealers around.

Any advice from previous '22 buyers? I've combed the toyota website and done as much internet research as I can mentally stand.

    Thanks

not an owner yet - but I'd cross the '22 off especially if you are nowhere near a dealership.

The number of problems and first release woes these '22s have is a complete turnoff for me.

I'd be looking at a newer '18-21 if I were you.

    YMMV

I'd agree. Get in a 2016-2021 and give it a couple years for things to settle and iron out the kinks.

Welcome from Florida. Love my 22 so far although yes there are a few things I’d wish were better. To me they are minor enough that I’m still very happy with my purchase provided nothing major pop up (knock on wood)

Don’t really have advice other than I was told a while back that the only way to get one was to be placed on a list at a dealer and put money down or again put money down and have one built. I chose the later since there would have been too many people on the list in front of me.

Not like they will actually build a truck just for you but the dealer can locate one being built to your specs and eventually have it held for you do that no one else could claim it.

There are always additional items the trucks come with that you may or may not be looking for but it would be up to you if you wanted to go ahead and reserved once they find you the closest match.

Mine had an extra $200 door protection package that I never asked for but I told the dealer the extra $200 was fine and agreed.

Overall the process took almost 3 months but I’d hope that might be quicker now that the building is way underway but honestly have no idea?

Also doesn’t hurt to maybe have multiple dealer look for you until you find one your satisfied with as long as your entitled to your deposit money back. In Florida it’s state law so it was a non issue.

    Good luck with your decision!
