I've read about the 'must dos' on the truck but wanted to get an idea from you guys on procurement of parts before doing any work.

Some of the stuff such as Timing belt/Waterpump replacement kit are relatively straight forward. However, I've seen many different parts for the upper and lower ball joints. Obviously OEM is the best choice. Even if I go through a dealer, how do I know the parts are the 'revised/improved' versions? Are there specific part numbers for the newer versions? Should I do both lower and upper? Or just the lower is enough?

I plan on going with the 5100 + AAL level lift and throw some 32.8s on so the truck should sit real nice and last for a long long time!

    TIA!

I’ve used Toyota Parts Deal. com. for many items. All OEM quality stuff.

Some items I go straight to the stealership and overpay/buy, as they provide me with inside knowledge on things I need to know before getting into the project.

Based on others opinions, you might be better off going with all new springs versus the AAL. Due to age, the springs are ready to retire. My original springs still do the job, but the bushing and silencer pads are shot. The springs have splayed from tow/haul over the years. I’ll be doing new springs for the OEM stance.

You could custom like many others here have done for additional lift.
