Yeah you can get black bumper covers for ~$10.
All it takes is about 10 minutes for you take them off.
4 or so coats. 10 more minutes to put them back on.

I think those bumper ends are considerably more time consuming than 10 minutes to take off. I’ve heard they are a real pain in the ass.
But, I would probably rather use Plastidip over those cheap bumper covers.

Do you by any chance have a link to bumper covers?

I actually want to color match the bumper caps. I have the paint and the space to do this project just want to avoid getting the chrome into an electrolytic tank, ergo looking for something painting and preferably pre prepped.

You are on the right track. My conclusion is that Plasti dip is garbage. It will fade and look like plasti dip. I did my mirror caps and after a few months it looked like I used plasti dip.

When I did the front bumpers, I went with new painted to match bumper corners but this was before “bumper shells” were on the market. They look sweet...Roman has a guy who handles the paint and does a great job.

If I was doing it again, I’d try the shells and see how they look.
