Did anyone else get this today? Curious as to what the problem and fix is.

My notice was from carfax so not 100% official yet. This is what I found on the topic.

Looks like it does not apply to all 2021 Tundras. Toyota recall lookup does not does not list this one for my 2021 SR5 CrewMax 4x4. It does list the headlight recall.

I looked up my vin# and this came up. No issues as of now but guess we'll have to wait and see.

I just received the same recall notice... a little late. With 800 miles on it, the power steering on my new Tundra failed... had to be towed to the dealer 60 miles away. Took a week and a half to get the part and 12 hours labor. It was a total nightmare, we had just finished a 500 mile freeway trip on crazy AZ freeways, thank God it didn't happen on the road. A Tundra is a beast to try to drive without power steering, so the discussion about the possibility of grave danger is true.

I’ve got 18,000 miles on my 21 tundra with no issues…yet. Having it serviced early next week. I suppose I’ll find out when I get there.

i've had to replace 2 steering racks under warranty already (one truck had 600 miles..). seems to be a supplier issue. i believe they're installing new racks

Yes, there have been several failures of the racks on 21s. There is even a thread where I predicted this recall.

This does apply to 2021s or at least some. I just checked mine and it does show that as an open SSC, but there is no remedy available yet. I'm a Toyota tech, I'll post on here when I see a remedy coming.

So maybe the trip up to hunting camp isn't the best idea? (3,000' gain across this 7.9 mile stretch of dirt)

I’m at 18k, too. No issues here either.

Mine was built in Sept 2020.

Well mine was built in October. It was delayed at the Port for about twenty days. When it came in I asked why it was delayed? The dealer said they were waiting on the steering column. He said it was installed at the Port.

I just checked the recall page and it says I'm not effected. Could they have corrected the problem already?

Yep, mine is on the list. I used to drive a truck with manual steering and a manual transmission so I got this.
