Was cleaning up the engine bay and noticed this bulge grime. What is my Likely culprit?

I hit it with some degreaser but I was wondering if this area is common for leaks ?

Usually there’s a common leak from the boot. Yours appears to be from the coupler.

I’d clean it up to see exactly where it’s originating.

Edit: Now that I'm seeing this on my computer instead of my phone, I don't know what to make of it...Is that just rust on the coupler or is there residual fluid?

What is the coupler. Sorry. Just getting into this steering stuff. Circle that bad boy
I just hit it with degreaser so I’ll report back on the update.
If it is the coupler ? What is the fix. A new rack ?

Maybe not the coupler itself where the intermediate shaft joins, but the lines underneath the coupler could be leaking I suppose. Just clean up that area if it’s coated in fluid.

    The coupler is above that.

It never dripped on the ground. I did have the poly bushings put on the rack a while back. I guess it’s possible the pulled this off and this is residual mess. I will report back with pictures if I find it be a problem.
