Anyone know roughly the going rate to powder coat my rims? Also do the tires need to be removed to do it?

I wish I could answer. But the only powder coating to be found around here (Mobile, AL) is not quality work. I've heard of good powder coat jobs on this site, but even the local powder coat companies themselves told me that it was very easily scratched and knicked. If I find a good powder coater, I'm getting my 1794 20" rims coated. I think they look really good in all black.

$100 a wheel here up to 20” wheel and the tire has to be removed.
They bead blast and clean up the entire wheel plus you don’t want your rubber going in the oven.

Call a local powder coating shop and ask?

Yes, tires have to be off truck.

It all depends on where you live.
Around my in NY they get anywhere from $125 to $150 per wheel. Some places want bare wheels others have the equipment to remove, remount and balance.
Best bet is to call or visit the shops and ask them.

Just remember that powder coating has no UV protection and the wheels will fade over time.

This seems to be very location specific. I've heard of people getting 50/wheel, where i'm at is more like 150/wheel

I paid $100 a wheel, had them done 3 years ago and they’ve held up very well.

I was just quoted at $160 a wheel to powder coat the TRD 18” off road rims black including removing the wheels, tires, then remounting and rebalancing and reinstall.
When I see other prices on this forum I’m not sure if it includes all that so I’m not sure how to compare my quote to others. To me it sounds reasonable since it’s one stop shopping and I don’t have to have them removed and reinstalled and rebalancing at a different shop.

My buddy just got quoted $650 in Fort Collins. I told him don’t do it. He has old 2010 rims..I thought he’s too close to a new set at that price

I had a set of 20” TSS wheels done, no tires involved, hence quite a bit cheaper.

Depends on the powder you use.

Neither does the Toyota Supper White paint, just apply a good wax/sealant twice a year and you're all good.
