Good morning my fellow Tundra junkies. I'm looking to install a rack in the post stakes only if possible. I have a sliding cover which keeps me from installing any types of mounts within the bed. Any help is greatly appreciated. Id like something with a streamline look. thx all for your help.

I had to make my own on my '00 Tundra. It worked well but you need to be able to weld. I had it set up so a bolt would go through the hole on the inside of the bed into the stake pocket. I made it so a section went over the cab as well. It wasn't easy to remove so it always stayed on the truck. For my '07 I want something I can easily take off.

I think because each truck is different your options will be limited. I know Thule makes one that will work but it's not cheap. There's some other brands that would work but I didn't like the looks of them. Adarac was one. It's steel and you end up with a piece of steel on the top of the bed on each side with a bunch of holes in it. It didn't look easy to remove. Back in the day they made a stake pocket mount that was nothing more than a rubber block that as you tightened a bolt would squeeze out filling the stake pocket. I kind of wondered if it was possible to adapt one of those to a clamp style rack but haven't looked.

I can't tell if your sliding cover goes over the front stake pocket holes from your picture. If they don't these look like a good option. You simply put them in the stake pockets and then bolt them in place from the inside of the bed. There's already a pre-drilled hole for the bolt. That would allow you to bolt the legs of a rack to them (vs clamping them to the rail of the bed. You would still need to modify the bottom of the legs to work with these but it looks like it would be pretty easy depending on which brand you buy.

I have a 2019 Tundra SR5 Crew Max, and the Stake Holes seem to be factory covered, ie no outline or punchout. Any suggestions, I really hate having to blind search for the Stake holes?

check out Adarac . They are compatible with most bed and tonneau covers just picked some up last week you will have to cut the plastic to get to the stake holes but there will be metal pieces that will cover that.

I just installed a Thule Track Rack. It works with my roll up tonneau cover and the racks easily slide off when I don't need them.
I think Thule makes one that just uses the stake pockets but they are low, which wouldn't work with my cover. And I wanted them higher for a rooftop tent eventually.
