2000 Toyota Tundra SR5

Hello all, I have a transmission question. I have a 2000 Tundra SR5 2wd, and my transmission died a while ago. My guess is the planitary gear broke. I have a co-worker who has a 30-40LE but the serial number on it is from 88, would this work in my 00? Any help is appreciated, I did try a search but i didn't find anything helpful.

Tundras use the A340E/F transmission.

Yeah, that ain't gonna work. The ones in 04 will work. They have the stronger planetary gear in them.
