My buddy at work likes to put ketchup directly onto his fries, while I put a pool of chup next to them. This has turned into a bigger debate than I thought so let's get the opinion of random internet strangers.

Pool of sup/chup, but only if the fries are substandard.

    Good fries don't need condiments.

I asked AI if catsup was made with cats:
Answer: No, catsup (or ketchup) is not made with cats. This is a common misconception, possibly due to the similar sound of the word "catsup" and "cat soup".

That this is a common misconception is only slightly more disturbing than me asking the question.

So I followed up with, what is cat soup?

Apparently, it's a Japanese anime short film.
Because, what else would it be?

Not just pool of ketchup, but a little salt applied/re-applied to the top of the ketchup, so you get an even coating to the fry on dipping, if the fries aren’t salted already. Kill two birds with one stone.

Putting anything on the fries in bulk, and then eating them creates soggy fries. Nice crispy fries that are salted, dipped in sauce of choice. Ketchup is classic. Ketchup and mustard mixed together is my go to. Fry sauce like Freddie’s is good, the spicy is the better of the two. Bbq sauce is good too. I’ve even *gasp* used mayo when in Europe. Not great, not terrible.

Thought I was the only one who did mustard with fries. Way better than ketchup. Unless it's Whataburger spicy ketchup. That's good stuff also.

i eat fries maybe once a year. Always with ketchup. I will say that fries with mustard is an excellent combo for multi-hour high exertion bicycle riding..the fries have calories and carbs to refill your body, and the mustard helps stave off the cramps.
