College buddy had Trans Am with the 455. He got a ticket once for the maxing out the cops radar. They set up road block at the WV Ohio border at the bridge. Rich daddy with connections took care of it. He said last time he looked at the speedo he was doing like 165. He washed that car so often that the plate faded. We would take I out after a wash and blow dry.

It did say it was a dark color didn't it? If it was white the downtown pedel cops would have been called in.

I have never used drugs, so I wouldn’t know.

Sounds like we have a few that dabble in the “unknown”

    Nothing major
Second incident was definitely coke or coke/meth driving plus a healthy dose of stupid. The first driver got away so we are left to speculate about the car, equipment, driver training,.... we can all agree that it was epic bad judgment to drive 150 at night on an open road but the driver may have had the skills or just the dumb luck to pull that off, at least well enough to out drive the cops.

Intersting comments from the police sipervisor. Back in my day our cop cars were limited to 135mph and we only caught faster cars with training, radios and helicopters. Yes we were trained drivers and better than most on the road but make no mistake there were trained elite drivers with faster cars that could escape. Even saw a mustang outrun the helicopter once.

As a rookie you think you are trained and equipped to be the best driver/fighter/shooter but experience soon teaches you otherwise. To the new guys that don't believe that or even if you do, enter an autocross race or an IDPA match and improve your skills.
