looking for the great long detailed explanation post i started to read last night, but now i cant find it!

post regarding the buttons to push to set the "nannies"
    auto LSD (on 2016 2w drive SR5)
    VSC
    TRAC.

new ride Clyde is a 2016 SR5, on the column shift. 2wheel drive, tow package.

correct me if i have been told wrong:
only the rear passenger tire actually provides traction.

one of these settings makes both back tires grab & provide traction?
    .????

    ok, im old.
back in 1979, i was driving a beautiful 1969 Buick Gransport deuce coupe, V8 (? 355) 4 on the floor, "12 bolt posi" that left 2 skid marks when popping off a red lite.
that car could haul ass, handle all the hills of el Paso Texas & mountains roads of New Mexico.

Clyde did great on the flats, but slipped on the hills.

the 50mph west texas windstorm i drove thru on spring break had the "slippery when wet" light flashing in morse code.

Clyde struggled on gravel residential roads of Ruidoso. i slipped, could not get up hills in low gear without passengers tire spinning gravel..

i slid, hit a tree & smashed the tail lite. MASH surgery in o'Reillys parking lot!

last year it was soft sand that did me in. again, no traction. towing the popup, trying to reverse.

it it as simple as a button setting?

i need the setting for steep hills on asphalt or gravel, sand & high wind.

Sounds like you do more off road than a lot of lifted locked 37 inch tired 4x4's. Having said that, a 2wd pickup is about the worst vehicle possible for traction. If the rear end has limited slip, its the toyota version which modulates the brakes to reduce spin. Not at all like the old GM posi traction on your Buick.
