There was just so much oil laying in there! Apparently she's just fine though with 330k or something?
Unless someone had spilled the bottle of jagermeister all over it? :burp:
@bmf4069 Did you have an issue you fixed?

Yes all fluids are correct except now atf might be burnt so doing 3qt drain and fill and doing inspection on trans cooler lines. How do I know if trans cooler is bad? Also I I changed transmission filter three years ago and redid gasket for transmission pan. Cold ATF levels were always on point. is it possible that the filter for transmission went bad too and is a blockage?

yes Mobil 1 full synthetic and 1/3 bottle Lucas synthetic stabilizer and all zerks including lbj are greased underneath and non stick lube for uca. But all that lube accounts for nothing until I have the tundra god’s blessing

The ATF filter is more like a screen. It would be near impossible to clog it up. The trans cooler on these is two parts, both flow through with no valving on them. One of the lower section of the radiator that acts as both a cooler and a warmer to help get the fluid up to temp quicker, then the external cooler most came with on the front of the radiator / AC condenser. Would be hard for one to go “bad” unless it suffered some damage from an outside source.

I wonder what’s causing my transmission to overheat? Could it be a sensor or thermostat being false. However, as I shut her down for the last time yesterday, I swear I heard gurgling or bubbling,

so I’ve always wondered my oil pressure gauge would read low but now after changing manifold gasket, the oil pressure gauge is more in the center range. Know anything about this?

HAHAHA, You said it stopped, I was waiting for you to call it out, like what it was...
The only weird clue was that statement about the plugs.
Then in a guys head you just wonder what that would sound like.
I haven't done that before... but I've done plenty of other stupid shit, it's how I learn a lot of the time.

I could blame a lot of other things, but when it comes down to it, I was not thorough and trying to rush. The evidence was right in front of me when I was looking at a plug that matched the other Seven but thought that I just had a spare plug and threw it with the rest of the spares which led to me, searching for answers and even becoming a member and recording a video of the noise lol

That was my last intake gasket change. I decided to open the intake for shits and giggles. It's just the lighting that makes it look bad; it's not full of oil/sludge. I mean, the little random nooks are, but not the main valley.

If you have grease zerks on your lower ball joints they aren't OEM and need to replaced ASAP.

    This, x10, and new hardware.

@ Yodakru here's a 20-page long thread of people who chose to ignore the inconvenient truth that aftermarket LBJ are a disaster waiting to happen: https://www.tundras.com/threads/first-gen-lower-ball-joint-lbj-failures.141860/

Your truck will last you forever, just change the oil on time, only OEM LBJ every 100k-125k miles, change the timing belt (+water pump, tensioner, pulleys) every 90k-100k with the Aisin OEM kit, and change out the radiator every 100k-125k miles with the Denso OEM part and pink long life coolant (never yellow or any other non-reddish color).

Feel free to ignore anything else folks tell you on other stuff, though there are a few other key parts that'll cause problems if not OEM (mostly electronics/sensors) but none will total-out or cost beacoup $$ like the three items I just mentioned.

At time time of this post, with less than a year of finally creating that thread to track LBJ failures, that thread already has 18 pages loaded with pics of LBJ victims... that should scream volumes to you. Most people I've seen here and on FB received ZERO WARNING, the LBJ just gave out abruptly.

Yes I agree, when I checked last the moog ones I have are one of the bad batches which is why I inspect and grease them religiously until I replace them. Been looking at total chaos lbj conversions. Anybody want to chime in their 2 cents on those types of conversions?

Anyone know about an automatic transmission thermostat that may cause atf oil to overheat or anything about transmission pumps or torque converters causing heat issues or maybe I need to do about 3 drain and refills as I’m currently finishing up the first one and just finished the tc case output seal that was leaking.

also I’m curious if my 3 year old battery might be the cause of any problems I’ve been slapped with lately.

Unless you genuinely plan on hucking your truck offroad, it's pointless IMHO.

Just spend the $250 to buy new OEM parts and get 'em in there STAT.

After adjusting tps and disconnecting trans cooler, lines, temp sensor and cleaning passages out along with 3qt drain a refill atf I hopeful to say she’s back!
I think adjusting the tps was the main issue.
