    Hello all,
This issue just popped the other day. 2008 with 5.7L V8 (117,500miles)
She accelerates to about 2500-3000 rpm/40 mph then hits some sort of ceiling, will not go passed that. If I floor the gas pedal it sounds like it getting gas but won’t accelerate. just ordered a scanner to see what codes come up, engine light came on with the issue.
I think it could be possibly be an O2 sensor? I know these go with higher mileage. Or possibly something up with the throttle body. will try to attach video of me trying to accelerate.
thank you for any and all help
    Richard

I would start with removing both the MAF and throttle body and clean. They do require different cleaning sprays FYI

I'm thinking the truck is in limp mode.

Often caused by the AIP system malfunction.

    Code “P2447- Air System pump
Stuck off bank 2” came back . So yeah looks like it’s the common air injection pump issue. guess I’ll have to replace pump+valve or do a bypass kit?
    any advice appreciated.

I have the bypass kit on my 08.

Before you can do the bypass mod, you need to find out if the AIP ECU has been flashed.

The early 2nd gens only ran the pumps at cold start up. To help the system stay healthy, the dealer would re flash the ECU to run the pumps at random times.

If your truck was to the dealer for random service, the techs would re flash the ECU as preventative maintenance. Often they would not tell you this service was done. You had to look close at your invoice.

The AIP mod fools the truck into believing the truck is already warmed up, so the pumps/ valve check is not performed.

I've had the bypass mod on my truck since 2012. I have no idea if my pumps or valves are even functional at this time. I forget I have the bypass until I come across threads like yours.

The Gen 2 kit will work regardless of ECU flash it is covered under the FAQ section on Hewitts site

He already scanned it. p2447. Air injection issues.

I'd rather have a bad pump. They easy to change. They live under the passenger front fender liner. The switching valves live in back of the intake. They take a bit more work to fix.
