    Hey 3rd gen owners.

CPA says I should take advantage of bonus depreciation and grab a new truck. I’ve narrowed it to these two models.

I want the HUD but don’t see it as an option in the TRD Pro. Is that possible?

Looks like I can get the rest of my wish list with both:

    • climate controlled seats
    • 4x4
    • Digital dash
    • Black exterior
    • Integrated dash cam

Either route it’s going straight to the shop for a lift and to swap my winch over.
The red interior on the TRD is tempting but not at expense of HUD if I can’t get both.

Honestly. The hud isn’t worth it. I hated it in the tundra and I loved it in my 23 pilot. I’d get the pro for resale value and aesthetics. Platinum if you want luxury , but only a platinum with AVS

Even if I’m going to lift it?

I want the most comfortable seats.

If your lift has the shocks changed then NO to the AVS. If the factory shocks stay intact, then yes to the AVS. I have it and it is truly impressive. Buy a truck with the advance pack and get the best of al worlds

Can I clear 37s without pulling the shocks?

You will want a lift to clear 37s. They will fit on the TRD Pro without any suspension mods but requires trimming and a proper alignment.

Have a read through of these threads:
3rd Gen Suspension Lift - MEGA THREAD
22 Tundra TRD Suspension Lift Kit

And I would also suggest that you following Westcott Designs on their social media(s). They have plenty of walkthrough videos on their YouTube as well.

As far as the HUD, as @DrZoidberg mentioned, it is pretty useless on the Tundra. It is a very old generation of the Toyota/Lexus HUD and doesn't include a lot of the functions of the newer generations. AVS is also not needed if you are going to go with an aftermarket lift. On the Platinum and/or 1794, the HUD is not available outside of the Advanced Package which also includes AVS and Load-leveling Rear Heigh Control Air Suspension. The Air Suspension in the rear can cause "issues" with lift kits...but once set correctly, is a nice addition if you tow.

The TRD Pro cannot get the HUD because it is based the Limited Trim and the Limited Trim does not have that option available to it.

I would suggest that you purchase a basic Platinum Trim in Midnight Black Metallic (218) with 4x4 as it will cover all of your basic wish list items. The OEM Toyota Integrated Dash Cam is an additional $499 MSRP Port Installed Accessories.

    Hope that helps!

Probably 35's. I think ou would have to pose that question on the lift thread. Point i was trying to make is Do Not get AVS if you plan to replace the shocks.

Went be a dealer today between meetings and they had a 1794 with a 6" lift on 37s that I could test drive. That's my same lift and tire size, so was great opportunity to prove up my concept.

I've decided on Black 1794 now and then I only have to work on a chrome delete mission after I get it lol.
