My only issue with my Tundra is the black leather in my Limited. I have sat on bleachers baking in the sun that are cooler than these seats. How does the cooled seat function work in the higher trim models? I don’t need it to freeze my a$$ to the seat just get it back to some level of comfort. Due to the Tundra shortage, no Platinums or 1794s are in stock at my local dealer.

I just bought a platinum a little over a month ago and the cooled seats do the job. They cool the seat off. Not air-conditioned, but cooled. They work great in my opinion, once you get past the fact that they are cooled and not air-conditioned. They are worth having, I am a contractor and love them.

Are you wearing shorty shorts or leaving the sunroof open??? Joking aside, maybe try getting some ceramic window tint and a windshield shade before you drop coin for another higher trim tundra.

Haha, only on Wednesday nights... The idea crossed my mind since Carvana offered me what I paid for it 21 months ago. Thought about selling and waiting out the auto price craziness and then upgrading. Already use shade and tint (not ceramic). Will probably try a seat cover though.

The cooled seats are adequate but that's about it. The ones in my 2019 Impala are amazing compared to the ones in the Tundra.

They work ok.... location wise they will fill with dust and debris eventually so worth blowing them out once and a while. But other than that they work ok with ac blowing on the floor and assisting in moving the air. My previous F150 had the AC plumed seats and they were a game changer!!

One of the reasons I opted for the upper trim models (1794) is for the seats. They are much more comfortable and the cooled seats are life changing for me. I feel them through my thick OCP uniform and they definitely alleviate the sweaty back and ass symptoms from walking around in the heat all day.

Related question... The heated seats in the Tundra... Is just the lower portion of the seat heated or is the back heated as well? The icon on the button shows just the lower portion. Not good if true!

The ventilated seats in my ‘19 Platinum are weak compared to my wife’s ‘18 Mazda6 Signature. Never set those past 2. The Tundras are on 3 all the time and I catch myself looking at the dash occasionally to see if they are on.

The cooled seats in my 2018 Platinum are very comfortable, but the cooler is UNDERWHELMING. I would never upgrade the Tundra just for cooled seats.

Go katzkin leather and get their degreez cooled seats. Good reviews, and the platinum ventilated seats aren't great.

Another disappointed cooled seats owner here. How can we upgrade this to work better? I have 5% ceramic tint on front windows.
My wife’s Hyundai Santa Fe makes my ass cold compared to mine.

I am seeing people really disappointed with the seats. Maybe I am just so thrilled with them because I am used to the worst seats in the world

I really enjoy the comfort of my platinum seats, however, the ventilated portion is pretty poor. I only got the truck a couple of months ago so I do not know how that heated portion works yet.

The platinum's coolers could be better BUT they are better than not having them.

I can feel the moving air in seats in my 1794 BUT as many have said they are not A/C just ventilated. Thinking about taking apart and getting the dimensions of the fan & motor assy and replacing with a more powerful fan motor.

For sure they are ventilated not cooled. I've felt better results when I split the AC between face and floor.

Did I see a hack on here or on a taco forum. Where you take one of the floor ducts under the seat, and tube that air to the fan, to give you a better "cooling" effect. Instead of just grabbing what ever air is under the seat. I wonder if that would help.

I think you're onto something here. Look at the motors in GM seats. They blow cool and hard!

My wife had a 4Runner demo with a much stronger system. That would be a good place to start. Hey blaze a trail here!

They are not very good at all.....

    1. You can barely feel any air coming out. I am a bigger guy so I naturally cover up the holes in the seats.

    2. It is just a fan pulling ambient air from the bottom of the seat. If you get in your truck that has been sitting out in the sun, it is going to pull the air and whatever temperature the cab is.

The seats are not really cooled or air conditioned. I hate to say it, but they are not even close to the AC seats in GMC and Ford's.

Has anyone gone in to look at the vented seat fans yet? I wonder if they’re just regular fans and could be swapped out to some better ones.

The cooled seats in my platinum work great. They definitely negate the burning thigh issue.

Don’t buy a platinum for the A/c seats and do not install Katzkin cooled seats. That suck too

Well, whilst the "cooled" function of my Platinum seats are underwhelming, the seat heaters work great. No complaints there. That being said, I live in Southeast Texas and thus, have only used the heaters on the coldest of days (read: not very often).

I use the seat heater when my back hurts. But I can't tell if the Tundra seats only heat the ass or the ass and the back. On my Tahoe, I could separate it out on the switch.
