Valhalla cats, Talon, RCI, Miller Cat.

I personally have Miller Cat shields installed because it was the quickest available in my area. Otherwise, I would’ve gone with Valhalla’s.

Mine asks me stuff, I google it, and read it off to her..

I don't mind helping anyone out around here, but there are multiple threads with multiple brands of shields..:eek2:

Plain Jane huh? I went rebar, 6 pieces a cat and welded cats on, sure anything can still be stolen yet this will make for substantial noise so hopefully they'll move onto easier targets....this cost me $60 for 2 trucks and 2 cars including the muffler guy to do the welding.

Does anyone know of Pros/Cons of Cat Security vs MillerCat products? For the shields and optional rear plate, CatSecurity comes in about $70 cheaper than MillerCat. I have no idea on timeline of either for an order but think both would be quicker to get vs Talon or Valhalla.

They look very similar, is one better or easier to install than the other? MillerCat has install instructions online and it looks pretty simple. Cat Security does not but I will look for an install vid or something. Any other feedback or considerations on these two products?

I hate the idea of spending $600-700 on something like this but it sure would suck to be without my truck for 6-9 months if I got hit with a theft.

Well I did find this, Cat security product install, looks like the Security model required drilling where the MillerCat does not?

Got Valhalla, they were the only ones that made a shield that work with the Pro Comp lift and I would buy it again. Also got the 1/4" Aluminum option to cut weight.

i went cat security. ordered and delivered in one week. very pleased.

check lead times. there is a vendor on here that has people waiting over 25 weeks from time of order. this was unacceptable to me.

exactly, which is why I am looking at these two brands vs Talon and Valhalla. No way I am waiting 20+ weeks. Not to mention this is not a purchase I am excited about/want to make, but it sure is better than potentially risking many months wait for replacement cats.

Cat theft has not been as big in my town as many areas of the country, but it is getting worse and with the economic struggles that will be occurring going into 2023, I think it will become even more common everywhere. It certainly does not help that 99% of those taking cats and making money from theft are getting away with it unchecked.

I know you were asking about Cat Security and Miller, but I ordered my cat plates from Talon and they shipped the next day, ended up getting them 3 days later. It was crazy fast and they’re great.

EDIT: This was only last month

I just bought the RCI ones, as they attach to my RCI transmission skid.

I don't think anything will deter a seriously determined thief. But if it causes him to see it's not an easy pull and move on, it's good enough for me.

I don't get why these companies sell their guards that don't really protect the cats fully, then sell you add on pieces that still, don't fully protect the cats? Rushing to sell without actually testing them?

I'm not sure you can "protect your cats fully"? Like exercise, some guards are a whole lot better than none!

RCI's is another $200 for those that have their transmission plate already. That can be pretty appealing for many...
