IDK if this is common sense or if I stumbled on something terrific....

A few weeks ago I was parked in high heat under some trees that were dropping pitch, and the truck didn’t move for 3 days.

I had big runny drops of pitch on my windshield, roof, hood, and a few running down the sides.

The pitch was still soft. All I had was hand sanitizer and a tiny bottle of QD in my “magician’s hat” center console, along with a couple MF towels. I blobbed some hand sanitizer on one pitch drop, wiped the whole mess with MF, and it was gone. The MF wasn’t even sticky, so I did the rest. Gone. Didn’t even leave residue on the glass, and even after cleaning all of it off, the MF towel was still clean, just smelled like the hand sanitizer. I hit each spot with QD and a quick buff with MD to make sure I didn’t leave anything on the surfaces.

Hope this does someone some good.

Good to know and nice job working on the fly. I keep a small bottle of QD in my truck too, people think I'm crazy but you never know when you'll need it.
I had a monster oak tree that hangs over my driveway, if its above 80 degrees outside it rains down sap. My driveway looks like it's been raining, I can't park outside if it's hot, even when I wash my truck I have to constantly go back and remove the oak sap.

Yeah, I have to admit to some obsessiveness, keeping QD in the truck, but my more routine enemy is birds- particularly big flocks of geese, that can drop disgusting bombs on the big Tundra target and that stuff is really bad for finishes. So, I keep the QD around for that. I work in healthcare, so the hand sanitizer is a must if I don’t want to be constantly sick.

Forgive my ignorance, but what is "QD?"

Carwashing idiot here. Always thought that springing for the triple color foam in a touchless wash was pampering.
