I bought a new pioneer stereo avic w8500 from crutchfield and wired everything up as instructed. Everything works fine until I turn on the apple CarPlay with Bluetooth. Sometimes after 5 minutes and others after 1hour the music will cut in and out. Eventually the screen starts blinking then shuts down. Crutchfield then sent me a new unit and it is doing the same thing. Just curious if anyone has any ideas of what could be going on. Surely I didn’t get two defective units. Stereo is installed on 2019 TRD Pro. Any help is greatly appreciated. I have already successfully updated the software/firmware with no positive results.

Well, I am running a Kenwood H/U, but your situation sounds like you got two defective units. Bluetooth music cutting in and out, followed by the LCD screen turning black. It almost seems like it may be overheating? It is possible that Crutchfield got a bad batch. Have you spoken directly to Pioneer yet?

I haven’t spoken directly to pioneer. Figured I would try here first to see if any one has had problems with the wireless apple car play.
