Pin Issue… Fixed… I think?!?

    I know others have posted about this but here’s my run down and fix, just in case others are seeing this issue in the way I have.

    I had already linked my key to my user profile, so until yesterday, the truck hasn’t asked for my pin since day 1. Yesterday it was asking every few minutes… on a long road trip back from west Texas ‍♂️

    I tried all I could think of on the road. Nothing worked. It said my profile was loaded and key was linked, but still asked for the pin.

    Once I got back home, I got back into the truck, and eventually went back into the app, under the Account and then Security Settings, and I reset the pin, then entered that new pin into the truck. So far, so good.

    I’m just not sure what triggered it. It may have been linked to me remote starting the truck. That’s really the only thing different that I did… or maybe there was an update that triggered it? Still scratching my head, but seems to be done asking for the pin now.

    I have had similar issues were my truck will randomly ask for my PIN. The only thing I can associate it with is when I have the truck on and connected then remove my phone from the area (like running back inside the house because I forgot something) then return. The truck will reconnect to my device when I return but then asks for a PIN. I am not 100% sure this is the reason but like I said it is the only thing that makes sense in my head so far.

    I have started using the remote app for starting the truck now that we are getting frost in the mornings sometimes. Now when I use the remote start in the App, i get the "re-enter PIN' on my screen. If I dont remote start, all is good. did you ever mention to the dealer and have it looked at/into? Its very annoying when it happens, and only happens with remote start for me.

    Thank you! I have been driving this truck for months. I have almost 8k miles on it and out of the blue, it is constantly asking me for a pin. I reset it in the app and so far so good.

    I would still like to know what triggered this, but as long as this doesn't come up every 5 minutes, I am good.
