Do any of you use the Pedal Commander? All the info that I've found are of people using them in 2014 and up Tundras to make the throttle response better, because Toyota detuned the throttle response in 2014.
I just bought a 2011 Double Cab Rock Warrior and can't find any info on it being used on 2013 and older trucks.

In my opinion, a Pedal Commander is a total waste. If you simply want snappy throttle, hit the Tow/Haul button.

Fuel delete mod Cup holder upgrade
Potentially unsafe too if it triggers limp mode.

I also am a firm believer that pedal commander is bad for the truck or car. It gives you 'instant' throttle response, therefore, going over bumpy road you will constantly be raping the engine and tyranny with these little changes in throttle as your foot is moving with the road bumps. I think default throttle response is engineered in a way to be more gentle on the drivetrain.

I would not use or recommend the pedal commander after my experiences with it (putting truck into limp mode multiple times). I have used the banks pedal monster since uninstalling the pedal commander and couldn't be happier with it.

On the flip side I have used the pedal commander. Which was recommended by a friend who happens to be a Toyota mechanic and has the pedal commander on his Tacoma and Tundra. It has many settings and it isn’t bad for the new Tundras 22+ It’s purpose is to cut the throttle response between the throttle (gas pedal) to the motor. In my case the throttle lag I had.
The pedal commander is a much simpler design and install from the Banks brand imo

they’re both plug and play….banks connects to odb2 and clips to pedal harness. The pedal commander clips into the accelerator harness.

the pedal commander has known issues of giving voltage feedback to the trucks computer systems which causes it to go into limp mode. Pedal monster has a failsafe to prevent that. I would be very hesitant to install a pedal commander again on my own truck and certainly wouldn’t recommend it to others.

This may help explain (although admittedly a biased video there are plenty others to support):

Eight (8) years trouble free with a Pedal Commander. So there's that.

I had a few trouble free years as well; and then my truck went into limp mode multiple times. The last straw was when I was merging on the highway and almost got smashed. Additionally I had the surging issue where the RPM’s would rev; they performed an over the air update for that. I am not saying that it’s. It an effective product - just saying that there are known issues to be aware of prior to purchasing and there are alternatives.

The only reason it falls into limp mode is if you change the settings while you’re driving. The pedal commander is designed to reduce the lag of the pedal response. The adjustments need to be made while the vehicle is in park and not in motion. I have never had any issues with it going into limp mode with the pedal commander. This is my 4th Tundra.
Only limp mode was in my 2008 with the air injector pumps.

The Bluetooth version of the PC has voltage issues that causes it.

I did not know they made a Bluetooth version. Makes sense.

I had problems with Apple CarPlay through Bluetooth. Had to plug it in.

nope, not in the Bluetooth version which is what I had. Never touched it after initial settings and had it installed for months. Went into limp mode multiple times

Do any of these modifications change the tuning of the computer? No

All they are doing is changing the pedal position command, and ramp it quicker. At least the commander as it is inline with the pedal. The pedal is still there and in use. I personally think it is snake oil for performance gains. On the other hand, use to go into a valet mode or as a theft deterrent is valid use.

    IMHO
