Looking for a to extract the plastic that has broken inside. I went to replace and literally didn’t apply much pressure at all and it snapped inside half. Not enough room to get my extractor set in there. Bought an extension and tried one extractor bit and just made it larger without removing the piece. Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated.

Honest? Pull the cam shaft/valve cover to be sure. I know, I know, the driver's side where the PCV valve is is a PITA, but you really don't want little plastic bits in your oil sump.

Try a spade bit the width of the pcv valve and work it loose with a 1/4" socket wrench...the side teeth may grab it better...if you have something like that laying around.

That worked thanks so much! Now if some small plastic shavings got in the valve cover am I completely screwed and need to remove it all?

I think some shavings got in there. Damnit it’s not even in the garage it was just out in the driveway for a quick Pcv replacement.. I looked on YouTube and it’s showing a 52 minute video. A bit more than I am mechanically inclined.

Yeah, I was going to say if you thought shavings from the extractor tool threw some curls inside, a possibility. Glad my idea worked for you.

It would be outside my expertise to say whether or not it would cause any issues, other than it maybe getting sucked into the new pcv valve. Which would be easy to recheck after driving a bit. Hopefully someone else may have a second opinion and chime in on a best case scenario.

Or, if really worried hook up a vacuum with a small straw or tube attachment and place it in the pcv hole??..
