Has anyone cleaned or changed out the PCV valve? I removed, checked and cleaned mine and reinstalled it, since the nearest dealer did not have a replacement part in stock. I routinely checked my oil dipstick and noticed it was almost down to the first notch hole. So I added some oil and researched that the PCV valve could be the culprit. Anyone else experience this and does it help or just leave it alone?

Not sure on the PCV spitting too much oil out enough to notice on the duo stick, but when boosted, it spits too much oil into intake and slows down the air and gums sensors up...I threw in a Radium catch can and dump it out every oil change...it usually only contains 1/4 to 1/3 of fluid...maybe a cup's worth...on my diesels I just routed the vent tube towards the ground and never had drips in garage floor...ICEs burn oil...some more than others...it maybe something more than a PCV if you regularly check your dip stick...I should probably do it more myself...

There certainly is some oil lost between oil changes via the pcv. I have a JLT catch can on my NA 5.7 and it catches more than one would expect. No catch can, then it's going to the combustion chamber and you can only maybe notice it on the dipstick depending on mileage between oil changes.

I did a PCV reroute. Crazy how much gunk gets built up in the intake.
