Lift (3” or less, not 100% since it had the lift when I bought it, TRD upgraded calibers/brakes, A/T LT 295/70R13s tires
I bought a 2020 SR5 Crew Max recently. The truck is lifted (no more than 3” but not 100% what the exact height it). At the time of purchase the PCS dash light came on. Notified the dealer and they agreed to fix it. Brought it back and initially they said it was due to the lift causing the sensor to be out of alignment and there was nothing they could do. Didn’t accept that as an answer and they agreed to send it down to their sister Toyota dealership (bought it from a Ford dealership) and have them look at it. Toyota dealership said they recalibrated the PCS sensor and that the light was staying off. Got it home Friday night, drove it Saturday and by the end of the day the light came back on. Just dropped it off at the dealership for the 3rd time.

The basic symptoms are: light is off, drive it for anywhere from 7-15 miles and the light comes on. As soon as I turn the truck off the light/alarm clears, and then comes back on after driving 7-15 miles. Rinse and repeat…..

Has anyone experienced this? The owners manual says if “tires of another size other than specified are installed” turn off the PCS system. Maybe this is the issue? Mine sits on A/T LT 295/70R13s tires (non-factory).

I absolutely LOVE the truck and don’t want to return it but I also don’t want to open myself up to major/costly issues down the road. Hell, I don’t even want to use the PCS system and will probably turn it off most times. Again, I just don’t want to run into any major/costly issues down the road. Thoughts? Should I just turn the PCS system off each time and enjoy the truck?

Turn sensitivity down real low and dont worry about it? Its not going to cause any issues.

You have a 3 inch lift and larger tires? So its closer to a 4 inch lift or more. That could definitely cause it.

Thx MadMax Like I said, not sure of the lift height. Here is a pic of the truck. If you have a guess on the lift height I’m all ears. Thx again

Im on a 4/2 lift on with no issues with the sensor. The only time my light comes on is during heavy downpours which is normal.

Some lifted trucks never have an issue with the pre collision sensors. Some never can function correctly after the trucks been lifted past 2-3” up front. You can try raising the rear an inch or so get a little rake back. But it’s no guarantee it will resolve the issue.

To check how much body lift measures front center of wheel to the bottom of fender, stock is about 21.5 inch, back is 24 inch.
