A couple months ago I started getting an airbag light. When it comes on I lose the radio, dome lights, keyless entry and the clock. I'm also getting flashing light for VCS system. I looked up codes and there are three active codes: P1231 (steering angle sensor, which I doubt is related), B1650 (Occupant Classification System Malfunction), and B1660 (P Seat Airbag Active Mode Indicator).

This problem comes and goes. One day I'll start the truck and everything is fine, but in a few hours/days all the lights/failures come back.

I have tried resetting all of the connectors under the passenger seat. I even took the seat completely out and made sure all of the connectors were removed, checked for loose wires, and plugged back in until I heard a click.

I also tried replacing the Occupant Classification Sensor. This did not solve the problem either.

So before I start going down the road of breaking out the multitester doing continuity tests on the harness, does anyone have any suggestions?

Grounding point would be my next suggestion... Pull that kick panel on the driver side by the door. I think it's 2 screws. Check those grounds, 1 may be slightly loose and causing issues. I do belive most ground out in that general area.

I removed the kick panel and there was 1 screw with two grounded wires going to it. It was tight. But I removed it, sanded it down a little to ensure a good contact and put everything back. Doesn't seem to fix the issue (it's currently showing codes/lights). I've pulled the wiring diagrams on the SRS system. I guess I just need to start testing individual wires.
