I went to close the sunroof shade on my platinum. Shade got about halfway closed then made a terrible noise. Sounded like gears were stripping or something. Now the shade is back to wherever it’s stored. The electric motor seems to work fine and I can see two tabs in the track going forward and backward when I press the button. Pretty strange. I’ve contacted my dealer to have it looked at. I guess add this to the list. Truck had a bad battery, passenger door speaker replaced and now this. Love the truck but damn…

Thanks for your posting. I am having the same issue now. Would you mind sharing what the problem was and how they fixed it? Thank you!

Literally just had this exact same thing happen tonight. Shade popped off the 2 “tabs”. Any idea how they fixed it?

Not sure if this helps you guys but when I had my headliner down (suede liner) the shade is spooled up right at the back of the glass and the mechanism is held on by 2 bolts. I didn’t take a pic but it takes 10 minutes to drop the headliner and I think you’d be able to get in there and reposition it quite easily. This is if you choose not to wait for the dealer or if they want to charge you.

10 min to drop the headliner? Maybe if you're a pro. Took me about an hour to drop it and two hours to put it back on... And it's fragile and easy to damage

It definitely can take longer, I just popped the top of all the pillars loose then pull the console and light out of the headliner and unplugged them. Then the headliner is held up by clips and Velcro so I pulled it off front to back and slid it through the rear glass opening. Regardless, the skill involved is minimal and it can easily be pulled and reinstalled by a single person.

ok cool, I’m definitely comfortable dropping headliner if I need to, I’m considering painting it black anyway (along with the pillars). Was just hoping there was an easy way to re-attach it to those sliding “tabs”. Thanks for the info!

I'd recommend getting a suede liner and some adhesive spray. It came out really nice and the material is easy to handle.

Adding ceramic tint to the inside of the Pano made a huge difference to comfort. I hate being mircrowaved by the sun's UV rays. Next truck is no pano for me. .
