honestly it's gonna depend on the shop you bring it to. whether they take off the whole bumper/grille/fender/etc and do a repaint on the whole thing, or just spot paint it. kinda depends on what you'd want them to do. also how deep/bad the "knick" in the paint is...or whether its a deep chip.

Complete repaint, done properly 7-10k would be my best guess(this is the figure I tell people who come to my shop). All depends on how much repairs needs to be done, what breaks coming of, stuff like that.

There are a lot of options out there depending on what you want. Maaco will do it for $299 and a custom shop that do color sanding etc. will charge $20,000+. But, I would say a typical OEM quality finish with some removal of bumpers etc. and a few dings will be $5,000 to $8,000 range.

    Welcome from NY.

It also depends on where you live. Shops around here charge $125 - $150 a hour for labor.

Man... 6 years old? How bad is the paint?

A shop will be able to match paint that new easily, and you could possibly get away with just getting some parts painted and then restoring the original paint (clean, buff, polish).

My Camry still looked like it had new paint at 11 years old because the front bumper and rear driver quarter panel had to be painted after 2 collisions (that were NOT my fault).

Did this truck survive a hailstorm? Freak sandblasting accident?

$5K-$10K depending on what you want. Color change will be more than those figures. Sobering I'm sure.

I had one of those 'I'm Earl Scheib, and I'll paint any car, any color for $29.95. No ups, no extras,' back many years ago. The color was Jolly Green. They did NO body work, and painted the tires and windshield at no extra cost.

But to the original question, it will depend on what they do and how well they do it. $6000 to $10,000 would be a range. See a finished car BEFORE you commit.
