Paint peeling off

Hi y’all
Any one experienced paint peeling off the top portion of the grill. Went to the dealership where I bought it and the service department said it not covered .

 

Dude, that is messed up. Model year?

Sorry to read about this. I would contact Toyota customer service. That shouldn't have happened. I believe that was prepped correctly before it was painted. From the grille it looks like a 2018, 19, 20 or 21, hopefully it is still covered.

 

It’s a 2019 and I bought it brand new and now has 60k

 

I'd still reach out to Toyota directly if it was my truck

 

There is a warranty enhancement on white cars both regular white and blizzard for paint peeling just like yours. Shoot me your VIN let me take a look.

 

I am not experiencing this but I have a white truck and am interested in this. Is there a service campaign or something?

 

yeah and Toyota did send letters out to owners as well. Essentially they are looking for paint peeling like the old honda civic roofs use to or what the OP is seeing on his

 

Maybe they fixed it for 21 models since I dont think i got a letter, but it would be nice to have something from toyota to reference if it did happen since anytime you talk to a dealer they dont know shit about shit.

 

My BIL’s neighbor has a Calvary Blue CM, probably a 2016-2018 or so that has paint peeling off of it. Weird places like door jambs.

 

White paint has been an issue for many manufacturers, for many years. That is certainly bad and I would continue to press for repair.

Not just Toyota as I mentioned, but many brands have issues with white. Specifically on the front end and often when driving at high speed in rain will make the paint peel. Wife's 2016 Kia is experiencing this currently. Not sure what the issue is with white or peal white but ive seen issues with the colors across different manufacturers for the last 10+ years.

 

It's the truck trying to escape that dreaded color. They call it Super White because they want it super gone.
