    Has anyone used the PAC amPro Ap4-TY12? Even better with the toslink adapter? I really would like to keep stock head unit, but I’m leary of the sound quality. Will be using a nice DSP, nice amps, nice speakers. If that pac adapter won’t be up to the task, I’m going to be sad.

    Which dsp, speakers, and amps? I looked up the PAC unit you posted. It seems do able, but you should read the fine print, and see if it s for you. (There s always more to it than it lets on.)

    "After downloading the AmpPRO PC App and connecting to your Windows-run PC via USB, you can access the factory 3-band parametric equalizer (EQ) and customize the tone of your system to perfection. The app also lets you adjust the system's minimum volume level and update the product firmware when needed."

    "Important Note: This interface does not retain your factory radio's speed-controlled volume, DSP, or surround sound mode, nor will it retain its Easy Speak function. This AmpPRO interface simplifies the installation of a car amplifier (not included). You'll also need to purchase anything required to install your new amp: an amp wiring kit, speaker wire (to replace factory wiring), and RCA cables."

    Source for above;

    I m convinced that wiring outside of toyota harness is the best bet. Just stay within power constraints, and create sound connections. You only limitation is what you can t imagination.
