2007 toyota tundra 5.7 regular cab
Hello guys, i have a 2007 5.7, i bought it approx. 4 months ago. The guy i bought it from had it sitting for a while so upon starting it up the check engine light, vsc light and trac off light all came on. While test driving it I realized it wouldnt shift past 4th gear. I took the risk and bought it either way since it was a regular cab w short bed and the 5.7! Once home i hooked it up and it read bad knock sensors (which explained why it would shift past 4th gear) and p2757. I thought p2757 may be on because the previous owner had a cheap aftermarket gas cap, so i bought a new one. Once i removed the intake manifold to replace the knock sensors i noticed there was a mouse nest and the mouse had chewed on the knock sensor harness so that also had to be replaced. Once everything was done, it drove perfectly for around 2 weeks until p2757 along with the check engine light, vsc light and trac off. The code comes on and off by itself. Once on it stays on for around 4 or 5 days before going off for the same amount of time. I have noticed that the lights usually come off when the truck is coming to a stop. It also makes a weird sound in the trans when in second gear when the truck is slowing down without me stepping on the breaks between 1.4 and .7 rpms. One time, when it was about to drop to first gear i gave it a bit of gas and it proceded to make the entire truck shake when slowing down again bedore dropping gear. It also stalls or it tries to stall when i shift it fast from P to D. Other then that it drives normal it reacts like a truck would when i floor the gas and when driving it normal , no slipping, no rough gears, no missed gears. I flushed the old trans oil and nothing changed. Im starting to think the mouse might have chewed on something else other then the harness or that maybe theres some dirty wires down there somewhere. But I did some research and it all come down to the conclussion that its more than likely a solenoid. Is there a way to know which one it might be? Because i looked up the solenoids on toyota parts but 2 different kinds come up. Theres no reviews or anything to go of. Or do you think something else might be causing this? Anything would help:)
