My 2008 Toyota Tundra has 88333 miles. Drive it occasionally, a week at a time every 2 months. Haven't driven it for about 4 months this time. Started it up and the "VSC Off" light was flashing and the "Slip Indicator Light" was on. I drove it for about 2 hours and nothing changed. Connected the OBD II reader and got the P2440 code plus "Sec.Air Inj.System Switching Vlv Stuck Bank 1."

I tried several options to clear the the "VSC Off" message but none worked. I read up about the valve sticking and watched some YouTube videos. My questions are these:

    1) Does all this mean my ECM Module is bad since all this happened at the same time?
    2) Would the stuck valve give all these indicators?
    3) If so, can the valve be repaired, or do I have to buy a new one?

    Thank you.

I forgot. The "Check Engine Light" was on as well.

Hi Arts1toytun. I just posted a write up on the replacement of the secondary air intake valve today. You should check it out. It may answer some of your questions. Mine went bad last week, so I replaced it. I had just stopped driving my truck regularly because I bought a small car. I went to move the truck and the check engine light was on. I don't think sitting is good for these valves.

Last week I read a post somewhere about clearing the codes and it worked. So, I cleared the codes and have driven it about 8 times, putting on about 150 miles. The power returned and no codes have shown up at this time. If they return, I will return to these postings. Thanks for all your help.

What engine does your Tundra have? I had this same issue with my 4.6 and I had the by-pass kit already on it. I bought a Dorman replacement part, took about 3 minutes to swap out and no more codes and dashboard is clear. You should also purchase the by-pass kit as it will help this happen again in the future. Clearing the codes will not work for this as water has already made it into that part and
