P2429 and p043e codes after running 44k thru system

    I ran a can of 44k thru my 4.6 tundra and the next morning I have these codes. Could the 44k have caused this or is this totally a coincidence. I’m lost this is my first Toyota Any help will be greatly appreciated thank you

    Never heard of 44k before is it like Seafoam??? There may be a probability whatever you dropped in there is causing evap codes. Maybe try a fuel system cleaner to purge out anything backing it up.... Have you replaced or messed with the airbox? You can try pushing in the hoses to the evap and see if that makes it go away.

    44k is the best fuel system cleaner I have ever found. It’s a BG product. Is the evap under the hood or back by the fuel tank Thanks

    I don't have experience with either of these codes but they are both Bank 2 exhaust/CAT temp related. Burning that fuel system cleaner could have caused high temps so I would think not a coincidence. Clear it and see if it comes back.

    The p2429 is a code for the exhaust getting too hot . I’m not sure where the temp sensor is on a tundra . The catalytic converters takes the unburnt gas left in the exhaust and burn it off . If they get too hot damage can happen to the material within . Did your check engine light turn on and blink at all ? If not a scan too that can graph the oxygen sensors can tell you if they are damaged beyond use . I can help you read the waveforms if you need . The other code if for evap and is hard to diagnose thru text

    The evap canister is by the tank, I do believe there is a purge near the front airbox... My 02 Celica has it underneath the airbox and has 2 vacuum hoses attached to it as well as a sensor. Personally haven't seen it on the Tundra, have seen it on a 90's Ford Tempo, and they're towards the front. Assuming its the standard, I'd look for the purge towards the engine bay.
    I've had an evap codes come up that was resolved with a new gas cap, on the Tundra, don't remember what code it was, and my Celica which was resolved by pushing in vacuum hoses.
    An over heated cat, you may need to look at a misfire in bank 2, check your spark plugs, mainly.
    I cooked both my cats in my SC400 due to a misfire.
