Just bought a 2006 DC. Truck drives and shifts smooth, 260k miles on it. However I started having an intermittent problem:

The truck will drive very well, but when I get to my destination and put it into park, the engine will rev up to 1500+ RPM or so, throw a P2111, then back off and have difficulty holding a steady RPM at idle. After this issue I can start it back up drive it fine, and then I put it back in park, it may or may not repeat the issue.

I have cleaned the throttle body, air filter (after market K&N), MF sensor and they look fine.

I'm hesitant to throw a new throttle body on there, but can't really figure out what else to check. I don't know the history on the truck, but the throttle body has some yellow paint pen writing on it, so thinking it may have been replaced previously with a used one...

Any one else had this issue and get a fix for it? Thanks

Did you use throttle body cleaner such as CRC brand ?

I'll assume you added one to many 1's and your meaning P2111. Assuming that's correct, with that code some of what you're experiencing is ECM putting you into Fail Safe(Limp Mode).
The problem is possibly in that used Throttle Body IMHO. I'd also suggest taking a close look at the TB and make sure the cable is fully plugged in if by chance you had it unplugged while cleaning. According to what you find, more can be suggested.

Yup, fat fingered an extra 1, it is P2111 stuck open.

And yes actually went official and bought CRC throttle body cleaner and MAF sensor cleaner for each.

I guess i'll try and find another body and see how that goes. Thanks!
